Hey y'all! So, last weekend my boyfriend and I were scrounging for food to throw together for breakfast, and we discovered God's gift to college students for breakfast...
We came up with some pretty good measurements so anyone can try to recreate our delicious breakfast masterpiece! Below are the exact ingredients we used, but obivously you can substitute whatever you want or add more or less of the following.
These would go great with eggs, but since we didn't have any, I made us a bagel with peanut butter for at least some protein. A sweet flavored juice would complement the saltiness of these puppies as well. If you try it, let me know what you think!
Ingredients:
- 3 tbs of cooking oil
- 1 pkg Simply Potatoes "Homestyle Slices"
- 4 slices Jennie-O Turkey Bacon, chopped
- 1/2 white onion, chopped
- 1 bag of sharp cheddar shredded cheese (Publix brand)
Directions:
- Follow the steps to cooking the Simply Potatoes Homestyle Slices, cook in a large skillet
- While the potatoes are cooking (they take awhile!) chop up the onion and cook the bacon in the microwave for about a minute to a minute and a half (or whatever the package says)!
- Saute the onions in oil (alongside the potatoes) and chop the bacon
- Once the potatoes have finished, reduce the heat and add the bacon and onion and spread evenly so that the ingredients are mixed well
- Sprinkle about 1/3 bag of the sharp cheddar cheese (or more if you're a cheese lover!) and re-cover the potatoes to let the cheese melt throughly. Once the cheese is melted to your liking, remove from heat and serve!
